Review Week

There are several "Review Weeks" planned throughout our school year, and this week just so happens to be one of them!
We are reviewing all of the letters that we have covered so far this year: Ss, Aa, Tt, Ii, Pp, Nn, Cc and Kk.

We play a wide variety of games during the week, including such things as Letter hunts, Around the World, Where's the Bear, Letter/Picture Sorting and we also practice our Jolly Phonics songs and actions.
Autumn Write-the-Room
(contains first 8 JP letters)
can be found HERE or HERE.

The Jolly Picture Sorting activity
 can be found at both
my TPT store or my TN shop.

We have three rotating math centres this week, and since yesterday was a school spirit dress up day,
Curious George, Princess Rapunzel and Thing 3 were playing a Bear shape matching game:

Bat man, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella were working on a Brown Bear number activity:

And our Firefighter, Cinderella 2 and Batman 2 were playing a Roll and Cover game:

Everyone in the class dressed up.
Such school spirit!
Way to go!

For the Truck-Lovers

One of the newer letter sorting packets I've made is the
"Jolly Construction ABC Sorting" packet.
(Perfect for the construction/truck lovers in my class!)
It contains sorting sheets for all the letters of the alphabet,
in the order that they are introduced in the Jolly Phonics program.

I love this simple sorting activity because it combines a number of skills: scissor, letter recognition, sorting and gluing!
It uses a great combination of spacial ordering, language, and neuro-motor skills!

This was the first time we completed the activity this year, and the children were very proud of the end result!

Some of us like the combination of messy and learning. . .

(Each sheet contains both upper and lower case letters.)

You can find this item {HERE} or {HERE}.

Jolly Picture Sorting

We braved the scissors and glue today and did some fantastic work on our first Jolly Picture Sorting activity.

You can find this activity {here} or {here}.

As I was giving instructions and explaining the activity, I heard a few students say, "I can't do that"!
They didn't need to fret, because they proved to both themselves AND their teacher that they were very capable of following multiple instructions. I think they did a fabulous job!

This is what they did:
1. Put their name on the page.
2. Coloured the pictures.
3. Cut the pictures out.
4. Sorted the pictures according to initial sounds.
5. Glued the pictures in the correct place.

WAY TO GO JK'S!
I WAS VERY PROUD OF YOU!
