Summer is Almost Here!

The last week of school is here and is almost gone!
It was a busy one filled with several celebrations, including our long awaited ice-cream party and 100 Day.

Our eldest daughter graduated from high-school yesterday afternoon, so I missed out on the long-awaited "100 Day" celebrations. Am I actually old enough to have a child in university?!? Where does the time go?!?

I made some fun plans for the special day, but unfortunately I was not able to enjoy it with the kids. :(

A big shout out to Mrs. Kooiman and Mrs. Rintjema for taking the bull by the horns and keeping the children busy and under control on the second last day of school!!!

Don't they look great in their wonderful crowns?!?
Each one of the ten coloured strips on their crown has ten stamps, stickers, or bingo dabber dots on them to equal 100.

Tomorrow is the last day of school, so I put together a little end of year gift bag for the children.
Each bag has ingredients and a recipe for
making their own play-doh.
The bag contains the salt, flour, and the Kool-Aid for colour.

(I found the idea HERE.)

It might not be a sweet treat to eat, but hopefully it will smell good and they will enjoy making it and playing with it!

Here's the recipe:

Play Doh

½ cup boiling water

1 Tablespoon Cooking Oil

¼ cup salt (included)

½ cup flour (included)

1 package Kool-Aid (included)

Stir water, oil and salt until dissolved

Stir in Flour and Kool-Aid

Mix until cool enough to knead to desired consistency

Put in air-tight container or zip loc bag

Store in fridge

We will have some sweet treats when we party in class tomorrow.
I plan to get them hyped up on sugar and then send them home for the last bus-ride of the 2012/2013 school year!
(sorry bus drivers!)
